FAQs
If your questions is not listed below, please ask in the form below:
Will this battery physically fit in my existing AGM battery compartment?
At 370 x 192 x 245mm and 22kg, this battery is significantly smaller and lighter than an equivalent 200Ah AGM unit (which typically measures 520 x 240 x 240mm and weighs 55 to 65kg). In most caravan, 4x4 canopy, and marine battery bay applications, the Amptron 200Ah will fit with room to spare where your old AGM bank sat. Always measure your compartment before ordering. Contact Amptron on 1300 543 376 if you need fitment confirmation for your specific vehicle or vessel.
What solar setup do I need to fully recharge this battery in a day?
For a full 0 to 100% recharge in 5 to 6 peak sun hours (typical for most of Australia), you need approximately 400 to 500W of solar panel capacity paired with a 40A to 60A MPPT controller configured for LiFePO4 chemistry (14.4V charge voltage). The battery accepts up to 200A charge current maximum, so a well-designed dual-panel rooftop array will comfortably recover the full 200Ah in a good day's sun, making it genuinely generator-independent for most moderate daily usage patterns.
Does this have CANbus or RS485 for Victron integration?
Only via Bluetooth with optional 500A Amptron Shunt Monitor. The Classic 200Ah works perfectly alongside Victron hardware using a standalone 500A Amptron battery monitor shunt for SOC tracking. Find the product in recommended system bundle above.
Can I run a 2,000W inverter from this battery, and what size fuse and cable do I need?
Yes. At 200A continuous (approximately 2,560W at 12.8V), a 2,000W inverter at full load sits comfortably within the continuous rating. And always follow your inverter manufacturer's wiring specifications or give us a call to understand in detail.
Can I connect two of these in parallel for 400Ah, and do I need any special equipment?
Yes, multiple units can be connected in parallel. For a balanced parallel bank, use equal-length cables of identical gauge between each battery's positive and negative terminals to the busbar. There is no special BMS communication required between units in parallel on this model. For series configurations (24V, 36V, or 48V), up to 4 units can be connected in series. Contact CPP technical team for wiring guidance on multi-battery configurations.
